Start spreading the news... New York State is making some of the best artisan cheese in the country! Saxelby's 'New Yorker' collection features three of the finest cheeses, crackers, and honey made in the Empire State! Collection includes:
Harpersfield Muddy River - This young cow's milk cheese is soaked in Muddy River Farm Brewing Co's Black IPA for one week, allowing the beer to penetrate the semi-firm chalky paste and dye the rind of the cheese a burnt sienna brown. Deliciously yeasty with tangy and lactic notes, this cheese is the perfect marriage of two nearly perfect fermented foods!
Nancy's Camembert - a triple cream made from a blend of sheep and cows' milk that is almost too buttery and decadent to discuss in polite company.
McCadam Cheddar - a quintessentially New York extra sharp cheddar that can trace it's lineage back over 100 years. All in all, a perfect cheese plate from Saxelby's home state!
Talbott and Arding Spelt Crackers - These hearty and flavorful crackers are the ideal pairing for any cheese plate! Made with organic New York state flour and grains in Hudson, NY, Talbott and Arding's crackers provide the perfect crunch and are loaded with seeds and whole grains. A great host gift that goes with every cheese.
