Battenkill Valley Creamery

Salem, New York

Battenkill Valley Creamery can trace its roots back to the surrounding farmland over 100 years. In 1902, the Don McEachron's great-grandfather started milking cows at a small farm just up the valley from the current location. In 1945, Don's grandfather moved the farm to its current location, and over the years the herd has expanded to roughly 350 Jerseys, Holsteins, and Jersey-Holstein crosses. Today the farm is managed by Don and his son Seth McEachron, and has its own bottling plant and milk processing facility. They began bottling their own milk in 2008, and in 2010 launched a home delivery business to customers in the Valley.
