American Cheese Society Winners Quintet
Regular price $115.00 Sale

This year's crop of American Cheese Society winners has arrived! These artisan cheeses all took home ribbons in their respective categories at the 2023 ACS Conference in Des Moines, Iowa. At Saxelby Cheesemongers, we're proud to work with the finest cheesemakers in America! This award-winning collection features:

Calderwood - Calderwood is an exclusive collaboration between Saxelby Cheesemongers and Jasper Hill Farm that aims to celebrate how the diet of a cow affects the cheese it produces. Coated with hay from the pastures surrounding Jasper Hill, Calderwood provides a true taste of place.

Noblette - Buttery and earthy with a slightly tart, sour cream-y finish, Calkins Creamery’s Noblette is a little wheel of joy! Made with milk from Highland Farm’s Holstein cows, Noblette is an exquisite product from a multi-generation family farm and creamery.

Wischago - This Manchego-style cheese from America’s Heartland has won its share of awards, but we think it’s the best it’s ever been! Aged for 6-7 months, these wheels develop a rich, meaty flavor accented by notes of fermented fruit.

Great Hill Blue - Great Hill Dairy only makes this one cheese, and it’s a winner! Creamy and tangy with just enough acid, this raw milk wheel is the epitome of American blue cheese.

St. Germain - This delicate and floral goat’s milk tomme is one of Blakesville Creamery’s highlights. With a mellow, earthy natural rind, this cheese is a crowd favorite.

Includes over 2 lbs of cheese and serves 12-14 people.

Please note that if any product(s) are out of stock we will substitute with something similar and equally delicious!

Amazing selection of cheeses, cared for beautifully!

We ordered the ACS Winners Quintet recently. As cheesemakers ourselves, we enjoy an activity called “cheese school” with our team. We bring in other makers’ cheeses and learn about them, taste them and discuss them as a team. This was a beautiful and diverse compilation of cheeses, showcasing the hard work of some award-winning American cheesemakers. Furthermore, we order a LOT of cheese, that we receive via mail, and it doesn’t always arrive in great condition. This cheese was shipped to us (in Ohio) during a week where temperatures were 95+ degrees. This cheese arrived cold and in perfect condition, honoring these cheeses and the way the makers intended them to be enjoyed. The package also included a summary sheet, providing information on each cheese, information about the maker and tasting notes. We were truly impressed with the quality of the package and the cheese that we received and are grateful to Saxelby Cheese for supporting American cheesemakers and for enabling us to get this wonderful quintet of cheeses.
