von Trapp Farmstead

vonTrapp collection - three organic farmstead cow's milk cheeses from Vermont
Regular price $85.00 Sale

The von Trapp farmstead, settled by the von Trapps of the Sound of Music Fame, sits nestled in Vermont's beautiful Mad River Valley. The farm was chosen for its beautiful surroundings - the peaceful and idyllic mountains surrounding the farm reminded the family of their native Austria. The farm was always a dairy, but in 2009 the third generation, Sebastian von Trapp, began making delicious cheese from their certified organic cow's milk. The von Trapp family is committed to making incredible cheese and also to environmental stewardship. Read our blog to learn more about this fascinating farm!

Collection includes:

Mt Alice - a fluffy, buttery Brie-style cow's milk cheese with creamy, mushroomy, and earthy flavors.

Oma - named for Sebastian von Trapp's grandmother (Oma means grandmother in Austrian) this soft washed rind cheese is fruity, pungent, and just the right amount of funky.

Mad River Blue - a rustic, earthy, and ever-so-slightly sweet blue cheese with flavors of anise, chocolate, earth, black pepper, and barnyard (in the best possible way!)

Includes over 1.5 lbs of cheese, and serves 6-8 people in one serving, or fewer people over 2-3 weeks.
